Jabber, Inc., now part of Cisco, was founded in early 2000 by a small team of visionaries who recognized the power of the “Jabber” protocol. Jabber, Inc. built a commercial-grade presence and messaging architecture from the ground up, based upon the Jabber open protocol, to serve enterprise and operator requirements for secure, federated, scalable, and reliable instant messaging (IM) and presence systems.
